National Cooking Show Comes to Saratoga for Benefit Russo said "I have lived in the area my entire life and I love the sport of horse racing. Most people don't know what jockeys go through just to make weight and ride, let alone what the dangers of competing are. Jockeys really don't earn much unless they finish at the top of the pack, and many who are injured don't have much to fall back on. If I can bring more awareness to what jockeys go through and help to make it a little easier for those that are disabled, then I feel lucky and honored to do so."Russo will be cooking to the beat of blues music by George Fletcher's Bourbon Renewal. There will also be an auction featuring items such as the artwork of equine artist and former jockey Nick Martinez and chicken BBQ provided by the Saratoga Lake Bistro. |
