Trainer David Hofmans said he would prefer to stay at Santa Anita and run Millennium Wind in the March 17 San Felipe Stakes but that he's also looking at going east for the $750,000 Louisiana Derby March 11.
"A lot depends on the weather," Hofmans said. "We're pointing for the San Felipe but we're keeping all of our options open."
On Thursday, the Santa Catalina stakes winner breezed seven furlongs in 1:24 at Hollywood Park, with Crhic McCarron aboard. "He was really fresh, really strong," said McCarron.
Hofmans was equally pleased with what he saw. "He galloped out a mile in 1:37.40," Hofmans said. "He went really good."
Also working on the West Coast Thursday was Point Given, who worked six furlongs from the gate under Gary Stevens in 1:12.80. Trained by Bob Baffert, Point Given was making his first workout in 14 days. The Breeders' Cup Juvenile runner-up starts in the San Felipe Stakes March 17.
