More than 100 members of the National Hay Association are expected to attend the organization's 110th annual convention at the Embassy Suites in Lexington Sept. 29-Oct. 1.
Tom Creech, owner of Charles T. Creech Inc. (hay and straw) and Creech Services (horse bedding removal and producer of Thoroughbred compost) is national president of the organization for 2005.
Creech said this year's program will center on the horse, providing farm tours, and presentations on the international business of growing and marketing hay and straw.
Creech has also introduced an estate planning session to the convention.
The National Hay Association was formed in 1895 and has grown throughout the changing eras of agriculture and agribusiness. It presently has more than 500 members, primarily growers and dealers in hay and straw. The executive director, Don Kieffer, is based in St. Petersburg, Fla.
