Cuvee, will continue his stud career at Gainesway Farm in Lexington, Ky., beginning in 2006, after standing his first season at Spendthrift Farm this year.
"Cuvee inherited his great speed from his sire, Carson City, and grandsire, Mr. Prospector," remarked Antony Beck, president, Gainesway Farm. "He is an excellent physical specimen, and will be a wonderful addition to our stallion roster."
Cuvee began his racing career with an impressive 6 1/4-length win at 4 1/2 furlongs at Churchill Downs. He returned with a victory in the Kentucky Breeders' Cup (gr. III), winning by 8 1/4 lengths. His success continued as he won the Futurity Stakes (gr. I) by 8 1/4 lengths and the Saratoga Special Stakes (gr. II) by 7 1/2 lengths, defeating the favored Pomeroy and the then-undefeated Limehouse. He also placed in the Bashford Manor Stakes (gr. III), the Kentucky Cup Sprint Stakes and the Matt Winn Stakes.
His stud fee for the 2006 season will be announced in October.
