Jockey Miguel Mena, who was thrown from his mount Sheer One when they clipped heels with another horse during Arlington Park's ninth race, was taken directly to Northwest Community Hospital in Arlington Heights for evaluation.

Mena, who was conscious when he left the track, suffered a laceration on his forehead and complained of pain in his leg and shoulder.

Sheer One was vanned back to the barn of his trainer, Moises Yanez, for further evaluation.
