Briviesca leads a talented field of 14 fillies and mares pointed toward Saturday's $200,000 All Along Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. IIIT), going 1 1/8 miles at Colonial Downs.
Briviesca, a group winner in France before being imported to the barn of trainer Bill Mott, will be looking for her first win of the year in All Along. The 4-year-old daughter of Peintre Celebre just missed by a neck to Honey Ryder in the Very One Handicap (gr. IIIT) and was most recently second to Film Maker in the Gallorette (gr. IIIT).
Jockey Jerry Bailey gets the call aboard Darpat S.L. Stables' Briviesca. The pair will break from the far outside in post 14 and are listed as the 7-2 morning line favorite.
Giving Briviesca a strong challenge will be 2-1 second-choice Path of Thunder. Trainer Todd Pletcher conditions the 3-year-old daughter of Thunder Gulch
for Michael Tabor. Path of Thunder had a three race win streak snapped in the Gallorette when she ran a disappointing sixth as the 2-1 second choice.
Path of Thunder will break from post 12 under jockey John Velazquez.
Another mare of note is trainer Christophe Clement's Snowdrops, who is listed as the 9-2 third choice, as the French-born conditioner seeks his second All Along win. Snowdrops biggest win came the Suwannee River Handicap (gr. IIIT) earlier this year.
The daughter of Gulch
is eight for 18 on the on the turf and gets the services of jockey Ramon Dominguez, breaking from post seven.
Rounding out the list of top contenders is Horizon Stable's Stupendous Miss, who will be looking to record her first black-type win. Stupendous Miss is two-for-four in the United States, winning a pair of optional allowance claiming races this season.
The daughter of Dynaformer
will be ridden by jockey Gary Stevens and the pair will break from post eight. Stupendous Miss is listed at 6-1 on the morning line.
