Superstar Rakti to Huma Park Stud

Edited press releaseSix-time group I winner Rakti has been purchased by Huma Park Stud in County Kildare, Ireland and will enter stud there beginning with the 2006 breeding season. Huma Park Stud has reached an agreement to purchase 100% of the 6-year-old horse, who will be syndicated.
Rakti will continue to race in Gary Tanaka's colors for the remainder of this year with his three principal targets being the group I Sussex Stakes at Goodwood on July 27, the grade I Breeders' Cup Mile at Belmont Park on October 29 and the group I Cathay Pacific Hong Kong Mile at Sha Tin on December 11, after which he will be retired to Huma Park Stud.
With earnings of £1.85 million, Rakti's group I victories have included the group I Italian Derby, Champion Stakes at Newmarket, Prince Of Wales's Stakes at Royal Ascot, Queen Elizabeth Stakes at Ascot, and the Juddmonte Lockinge Stakes at Newbury. In his most recent start, Rakti finished second to Valixir in the group I Queen Anne Stakes at Royal Ascot at York.
