Maggie Slew finished second in her career debut.
Maggie Slew, the final offspring of 1977 Triple Crown winner Seattle Slew, finished second in her career debut in the third race at Churchill Downs on Sunday.

The 2-year-old Indiana-bred Maggie Slew, owned and bred by Don and Dana Myers' Swifty Farms,was sent off at 6-1 and finished 1 3/4-lengths behind longshot Azevedo ($50.80).

Trained by David Vance, Maggie Slew rallied from fifth in the field of nine under jockey Juan Molina to nip Thunder Bayou by a nose in the five furlong maiden event.

Seattle Slew died on May 7, 2002, the anniversary of his Kentucky Derby win.
