'Road to The World Thoroughbred Championships Powered By Dodge' Returns on ESPN Networks
Edited release"Road to the World Thoroughbred Championships Powered by Dodge," a four-month, 15-program series, will return on ESPN networks this weekend. Featuring 33 races in seven of the eight Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships divisions, the series concludes with a World Thoroughbred Championships special Oct. 28, the day before this year's Breeders' Cup at Belmont Park. Kicking things off will be a two-hour show this Saturday on ESPN beginning at 4 p.m. ET. The show will feature live coverage of a pair of grade I races, the $750,000 United Nations from Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J., and the $500,000 Suburban Handicap from Belmont Park in Elmont, N.Y. Also airing will be the $250,000 New York Handicap (gr. II) from Belmont, and the $350,000 Ohio Derby (gr. III) from Thistledown in North Randall, Ohio. On Sunday the group I, $1.56-million Bud Irish Derby will air on ESPN 2 from 4-5p.m. ET from the Curragh in Ireland.Hosting Saturday's show will be Jeff Medders joined by analyst Randy Moss and reporters Jeannine Edwards and Kurt Hoover. Medders also hosts on Sunday, along with Jay Privman and Tommy Smyth.
