Elvstroem, a four-time Australian group I winner who was sent on a group I international quest this year, has been retired from racing for stallion duty at Blue Gum Stud in Euroa in the Australian province of Victoria, according to Fox Sports. Nicknamed Elvis, the 4-year-old Australian-bred son of Danehill last raced in the June 26 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud (Fr-I) and finished fourth. He retires with 10 wins from 32 starts and earnings of $4,231,468.

Elvstroem's group I globetrotting started in Dubai in March, where he won the Dubai Duty Free (UAE-I). After an unplaced effort in a Hong Kong group I event, the syndicate-owned Elvstroem raced four times at the group I level in Europe, with his best efforts coming in placings in the Prince of Wales's Stakes in England and the Prix d'Ispahan in France.

Blue Gum principal Philip Campbell said Elvstroem, who was produced from the Marscay mare Circles Of Gold, would cover a minimum of 140 mares and stand for $38,500 (approximately $29,600).
