Chattachoochee War Tops Oversubscribed Kent Stakes

Amerman Racing Stables' Chattahoochee War, winner of the Central Bank Transylvania Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Keeneland, has been installed the lukewarm 4-1 morning-line favorite for the $500,000 Kent Breeders' Cup Stakes (gr. IIIT) Saturday at Delaware Park.

The son of War Chant trained by Bobby Frankel, will be ridden by Pat Valenzuela, carrying top weight of 119 pounds in the 1 1/8-mile grass test.

In the one-mile Transylvania, Chattahoochee War emerged on top in a three-horse photo finish, defeating Guillaume Tell and Rey de Café.

The Kent was oversubscribed, with 14 entries, only 12 of which will be allowed to start. Included in the entries are six horses which are also entered in Saturday's $500,000 Colonial Turf Cup at Virginia's Colonial Downs.

The cross-entered horses are Interpatation, Spring House, Touched by Madness, Crown Point, Wallstreet Scandal, and El Viaje.
