Flashy Wings extended her unbeaten streak to three for owner Jaber Abdullah with a victory in the June 15 Queen Mary Stakes (Eng-II) for juvenile fillies at Royal Ascot in her first stakes attempt.
The English-bred daughter of deceased Zafonic went off co-favored with Salut d'Amour (by Danehill Dancer) at 4-1 and ended up three lengths clear of that rival in the five furlong race. Bow Bridge (by Bertolini) ran third. Time for the race, in which Flashy Wings picked up $73,332 of the $126,434 purse, was :58.18.
Bred by Redmyre Bloodstock and S. Hillen, Flashy Wings is trained by Mick Channon and ridden to victory in all three starts by Ted Durcan. She is from the last crop of Zafonic, who died while standing at Arrowfield Stud in Australia in 2002.
