Juddmonte Farms' homebred Intercontinental will vie for a repeat victory against a strong field of fillies and mares in Saturday's Just a Game Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIT) at Belmont Park. Carrying a topweight of 123, this year's Matriarch (gr. IT) winner will break from post three with jockey Jerry Bailey, who rode the mare to a 1 1/4-length score in last year's one-mile event.

Bailey has guided the 5-year-old daughter of the great sire Danehill to all four of her North American stakes wins, including the Matriarch at Hollywood Park in January and the past two Jenny Wiley Stakes (gr. IIT) at Keeneland.

Trained by Bobby Frankel, the British-bred mare enters Saturday's $300,000 race off a four-length score over Delta Princess in the April 17 Jenny Wiley.

Intercontinental, 2004 Eclipse nominee for champion turf female, has won nine of 16 lifetime starts with earnings of $905,263.

Fox Ridge Farm's grade I-winning homebred Riskaverse, unraced since a disappointing eight-place finish behind Ouija Board in the Breeders' Cup V05 Filly & Mare Turf (gr. I) last October, will break from gate two, carrying 119. Jockey Cornelio Velasquez has the mount.

Trained by Patrick Kelly, millionaire Riskaverse hasn't entered the winner's circle since a three-quarters of a length score in last October's Flower Bowl Invitational Stakes (gr. IT) at Belmont, her sole stakes win of 2004. The six-year-old mare will be seeking her fifth graded stakes victory Saturday.

Also making her first start since a third-place effort in the Breeders' Cup Filly and Mare Turf is second highweight (121) Wonder Again, trained by Toner James for Joan and John Phillips.

Wonder Again finished sixth behind Riskaverse in the Flower Bowl in her start prior to the Breeders' Cup, after she beat the Flower Bowl winner in the Diana Handicap (gr. IT) by 5 3/4-lengths.

The daughter of Silver Hawk, who also won the New York Handicap (gr. II) in 2004, will break from post five under jockey Edgar Prado.

The Emirates Airline Just a Game Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIT), $300,000, Belmont Park, June 11, estimated local post time: 3:52 p.m., 3-year-olds and up, fillies and mares, one-mile, turf
