Classic winner Fusaichi Pegasus embarked on his new career the morning of Feb. 14 at Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky., and came through like a champ. Last year's Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner covered stakes winner Name of Love, the first of some 100 mares to which he is booked. "There was no problem whatsoever," said farm official Aisling Cross.
Six-year-old Name of Love (Petardia -- National Ballet, by Shareef Dancer) is the dam of two foals -- a 2000 Belong to Me filly and a Kingmambo filly foaled this year. The Irish-bred mare, who won the 1997 Owen Brown Rockfel (Ire-III) and Oh So Sharp Stakes, is owned by J.M.J. Stables.
