Horse of the Year
Tiznow came through with his first winner when his daughter Folklore won June 3 at Belmont Park. A homebred for Robert and Beverly Lewis, Folklore won the five-furlong race by four lengths in :57.83. She is the first foal from her dam, Contrive (by
Storm Cat), a daughter of graded winner Jeano. Next dam is grade I winner Basie.
Tiznow (
Cee's Tizzy--Cee's Song, by Seattle Song) won the 2000-01 Breeders' Cup Classic (gr. I) and was champion older male both years and Horse of the Year in 2000. He stands for $30,000 at Bill Casner and Kenny Troutt's WinStar Farm near Versailles, Ky.
