An absolute auction of horses owned by Central Kentucky horseman Cecil Seaman was held June 3 at Billy and Allison Murphy's Ballinswood Farm near Paris, Ky.

The sale of 24 mares, yearlings, and foals was ordered by the Bourbon County Circuit Court after the farm filed a motion Feb. 14 seeking to recoup boarding fees.

Six horses were withdrawn from the sale after liens on those horses were settled between Seaman, Ballinswood Farm, and Fifth-Third Bank.

The receipts from the June 3 sale, $90,750, after payment of expenses and commission of Leer Auction Co., which conducted the sale, will be placed into an escrow account while the court determines the priority of payment to creditors.
