Dance Away Capote Eyes Delaware Return

Pandora Farm's Dance Away Capote, scratched from the May 6 Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) because of a temperature, is the morning-line favorite in a field of seven for Saturday's $100,000 Go For Wand Stakes at Delaware Park.

Dance Away Capote, by Capote, won the March 26 Bourbonette Breeders' Cup Stakes at Turfway Park in her last start. Trainer Graham Motion planned to run the 3-year-old filly in the Oaks but had to change plans.

"Dance Away Capote is doing super," Motion said. "She worked (May 22) at Fair Hill in 1:13 breezing going six furlongs, so she should be ready. Knock on wood, everything is going in the right direction, and I know she handles the Delaware track, which is always a positive."

Last year, Dance Away Capote won the Irish Sonnet Stakes at Delaware. She closed out her 2004 campaign with a fifth-place finish in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) at Lone Star Park.

The Go For Wand is for 3-year-old fillies at 1 1/16 miles. Ramon Dominguez is named to ride Dance Away Capote, and also is named on Lucky Slevin.
