Reserved Seats for Belmont Stakes Sold Out

(from NYRA release)
Reserved seating at Belmont Park for the $1 million Belmont Stakes (gr. I) June 11 has been sold out.

Recent attempts at completing racing's Triple Crown have contributed to the increasing popularity of the event, said Bill Nader, New York Racing Association senior vice president.

"In 1997, Silver Charm made his bid for the Triple Crown in the Belmont Stakes," said Bill Nader, New York Racing Association Senior Vice President. "Five others over the next seven years came to the Belmont Stakes looking to become racing's 12th Triple Crown winner and all failed.

"But these horses – Silver Charm, Real Quiet, Charismatic, War Emblem, Funny Cide and Smarty Jones – helped a new generation of fans discover Belmont Park."

While reserved seating is gone, fans can still be accommodated at the spacious track. While no alcoholic beverages, glass containers, canopies or tents or open flames (i.e., grills, fires, barbeques, etc.) will be allowed at Belmont Park on June 11, fans may bring food and beverages into the park. Coolers will be restricted to the backyard area and will be subject to search.

Parking gates on June 11 will open at 8:15 a.m., and admission gates will open at 8:30 a.m.
