Twenty-six of the nation's top college journalism students will participate in the third annual Los Angeles Times Sports Journalism Workshop, scheduled Thursday through Saturday at Times Mirror Square and Hollywood Park.

The workshop honors the late Jim Murray, Pulitzer Prize-winning sports columnist of the Los Angeles Times, and culminates with the 16th running of the $350,000 Jim Murray Memorial Handicap (gr. IIIT) at 1 1/2 miles on turf Saturday.

Students will be at the track Friday night and Saturday afternoon. Twenty schools from 12 states are represented.
