Baze Wins 4 as Bay Meadows Curtain Falls

Hall of Fame jockey Russell Baze capped off his 33rd career riding championship at Bay Meadows by winning four races Sunday.
The four-bagger gave Baze 119 wins at the 71-day meeting, which ended Sunday. Frank Alvarado and Roberto Gonzalez tied for second place with 61 wins apiece.
Jerry Hollendorfer, who had one winner Sunday, saddled 71 winners during the winter-spring season to claim his 30th consecutive training championship at Bay Meadows.
Thoroughbred racing in the Bay Area moves to Golden Gate Fields Wednesday. The 29-day spring season runs through June 19.
