(from Hollywood Park report)
Hollywood Story, whose greatest success has come at Hollywood Park, returns to her favorite racetrack on Saturday when she heads a field of seven in the $100,000 Hawthorne Handicap (gr. III) at 1 1/16 miles.

Owned by movie theater magnate George Krikorian, Hollywood Story has won but two of 13 starts. Both, however, were huge victories over the Hollywood Park main track. She broke her maiden in her fifth start in 2003 by winning the Hollywood Starlet (gr. I) by 2 3/4 lengths at odds of 6-1. She captured the Bayakoa Handicap (gr. II) last December at odds of 5-1 fo trainer John Shirreffs.

The 4-year-old daughter of Wild Rush, who has earned $673,605 from a 2-3-4 mark in her 13 races, will carry high weight of 119 pounds and be ridden by Victor Espinoza, who was aboard for her Bayakoa victory.

House of Fortune, who will carry 115 pounds including jockey David Flores, figures to provide Hollywood Story with her sternest test. She defeated her rival when victorious in last year's Hollywood Breeders' Cup Oaks (gr. II). The third-place finish was Hollywood Story's only blemish over Hollywood Park's main track. But the latter took the measure of House of Fortune in two other meetings including the 2003 Hollywood Starlet when House of Fortune was beaten 7 1/4 lengths while finishing third.

Trained by Hall of Famer Ron McAnally for Arnold Zetcher, House of Fortune has posted a 6-2-1 record in 14 starts for earnings of $570,819. She returns to the West Coast after running sixth in the Apple Blossom Handicap (gr. I) at Oaklawn Park on April 9. Flores will be aboard for the first time.

A simulcast of the Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and the full card of racing from Churchill Downs, which gets underway at 8 a.m. locally, will complement Saturday's nine-race program. Gates open at 7:30 a.m. First post for live racing is at 1:20 p.m. The Kentucky Derby is scheduled for 3:04 p.m.
