Pandora Farms Dance Away Capote, winner of the Bourbonette Stakes at Keeneland, was scratched from Friday's Kentucky Oaks after she apparently developed an infection.
"She had a temperature of 103 degrees this morning and we regretfully have to scratch," said trainer Graham Motion. "We discovered it during a routine check we do on all of our horses and we've drawn blood and should have the results back later today to find the source of the temperature. Obviously, she has some sort of infection."
A daughter of Capote, Dance Away Capote has won three of seven lifetime starts.
In another Oaks development, trainer Carl Nafzger said Buckram Oak Farm's Aspen Tree would run in Thursday's La Troienne (gr. III) rather than the Oaks. The filly was corss-entered in both races.
