Successful Appeal Returned to Walmac After Surgery

Successful Appeal  , last year's leading freshman stallion who underwent colic surgery April 25 at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital near Lexington, has arrived back home at Walmac Farm near Lexington.

"He is doing great," said Steve Sharp, director of marketing and sales. "He's happy, healthy, and on schedule as far as his recovery. Dr. Rolf Embertson (the attending surgeon) will be back May 25 to confer with Walmac's veterinarian, J.D. Howard, and stallion manager, Ron Gilbert."

Walmac announced a four-week recovery period for Successful Appeal after the operation. A 9-year-old son of Valid Appeal out of the Fortunate Prospect mare Successful Dancer, Successful Appeal covered 83 of the 113 mares booked to him. He stands for $25,000.
