(from Aqueduct notes)
Trainer Barclay Tagg said Saturday that Sackatoga Stable's Funny Cide will not make his 2005 debut against New York breds in Aqueduct's Kings Point Handicap on Sunday's closing day card.

Tagg, speaking after his filly, favored Changing World, was beaten a neck by Finery in Aqueduct's Beaugay Handicap (gr. IIIT) on Saturday afternoon, said the weight assignment of 127 pounds and the possibility of an off-track led to his decision.

"I won't run him," Tagg said. "I haven't scratched him, but I'm not going to run him. The combination of carrying a lot of weight and a wet track are very unappetizing. I'll probably just train him up to the Pimlico Special (gr. I)."

Funny Cide was spotting his three Kings Point rivals from eight to 14 pounds.

The $500,000 Pimlico Special, at 1 3/16 miles, will be run at Pimlico Race Course in Maryland on May 20.
