A P Valentine, winner of the Champagne Stakes (gr. I) last fall, had his first test for speed at Hialeah Saturday, blazing 5 furlongs in a bullet :59 flat.

The son of A P Indy, who has not run since bucking shins in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I), is being pointed for the Florida Derby (gr. I).

In Fountain of Youth (gr. I) news, California invaders, Global Gait, trained by Bob Baffert, and High Cascade, trained by D. Outofthebox, a 4 3/4-length allowance winner at Gulfstream in his last start, worked a sharp 5 furlongs Saturday in :59 2/5, while over at Hialeah, Todd Pletcher breezed recent allowance winner You Know Who 6 furlongs in 1:14.
