Churchill Makes Changes to List of Racing Officials

The Kentucky Horse Racing Authority approved a pair of changes to the list of racing officials at Churchill Downs during an April 28 special meeting.

Brooks "Butch" Becraft replaced Steve Obrekaitis as steward and Steve Krajcir replaced Ron Herbstreet as clerk of scales.

Becraft will assume his steward position beginning opening day, April 30, however, New York steward Dr. Ted Hill will serve as steward on Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) and Kentucky Derby (gr. I) days. Hill worked in an official capacity for the KHRA during last year's Oaks and Derby.

Becraft will return as steward when racing resumes May 11 and continue through the remainder of the meet.
