National Thoroughbred Racing Association commissioner D.G. Van Clief Jr. will address the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers' Club May 3.
The meeting will be held at the Crowne Plaza in Lexington at 6:30 p.m. EDT. In addition to an update from Van Clief on NTRA business, Greg Avioli, executive vice president of legislation and corporate affairs for the NTRA, will discuss legislative initiatives, and Joe Morris, president of NTRA Purchasing, will provide an update.
Van Clief, also president of Breeders' Cup and chairman of Fasig-Tipton Co., was officially named commissioner of the NTRA April 18. He previously served as commissioner pending an executive search after Tim Smith resigned last summer to work on a new economic model for New York racing.
