Bartok, sire of multiple stakes winners Bartok's Blithe and Euro Empire, has been relocated to Tom and Nancy Clark's Rancho San Miguel near San Miguel, Calif. The 14-year-old Irish-bred son of Fairy King ranked among California's leaders with 13 2-year-old winners from 22 starters in 2004.
Euro Empire was the first of Bartok's stakes winners. As a 2-year-old in 2000, she won the California Thoroughbred Breeders' Association Stakes and the XTRA Sports 690 AM California Cup Juvenile Fillies Stakes and placed in the Oak Leaf (gr. I) and Del Mar Debutante (gr. I) Stakes. Bartok's Blithe won two stakes and is stakes-placed this year.
Bartok, who was produced from the Shirley Heights mare Euromill, has sired five stakes-placed runners and the careers earners of $2 million. Formerly at Warren's Thoroughbreds near Hemet, Calif., Bartok will stand for a private fee.
