Danzig, Storm Creek Colts Lead Way in Keeneland Under Tack Show

Colts by Danzig and Storm Creek sizzled on grass Monday during the second and final under tack show for the Keeneland April sale of 2-year-olds in training. Both were clocked in :10 while breezing an eighth of a mile.

Produced from the A.P. Indy mare Nuts in May and from the family of grade I winner Pleasantly Perfect, the Danzig colt is consigned by Robert N. Scanlon, agent. Named Storm Beach, the Storm Creek colt is out of the Polish Numbers mare Princess Patti and is from the family of grade I winner K. O. Punch. He is consigned by Parrish Farms.

A Saint Ballado filly turned in the fastest time on dirt for an eighth of a mile, covering the distance in :10 1/5. Produced from the 8-year-old unraced Deputy Minister mare Sabu, the filly is from the family of grade I winner and Canadian champion Perfect Soul. Equine Capitol purchased the filly for $175,000 at the 2004 Keeneland September yearling sale. She is consigned to the Keeneland April auction by LMS 2004.

The weather was warm and sunny.

The fastest quarter-mile performances came on the turf as two prospects were clocked at :21 flat. They were a filly by Silver Deputy - Nortak, consigned by Eddie Woods, agent, and a filly by Saint Ballado -- Actceptional named Accepting Fate, consigned by Sequel Bloodstock, agent.

Four horses turned in the fastest quarter-mile time on dirt of :21 3/5. They were a Fusaichi Pegasus   – Gerri n Jo Go filly, consigned by Robert Scanlon, agent; a Coronado's Quest – Henlopen colt, consigned by Solitary Oak Farm, agent; a Fusaichi Pegasus   – Marozia colt, consigned by Kirkwood Stables, agent; and an Unbridled's Song – Teewinot colt, consigned by Werner Ranch, agent.

The Keeneland sale starts Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. (EST).
