TVG has announced plans to provide live coverage of Sunday's Queen's Silver Jubilee Cup (HK-II) at Hong Kong's Sha Tin Race Course, in which Archie da Silva's Silent Witness will try to create history at the same time when he goes for his 17th consecutive win.
TVG will provide live coverage from 3:00-4:00 a.m. ET (post time is scheduled for 3:50 a.m. ET), with the one-hour program airing on tape delay on Fox Sports Net 2 beginning at 4:30 a.m. ET.
Reporting from Southern California will be Todd Schrupp and Simon Bray.
"This could be a horseracing moment for the ages and we want to give it the coverage it deserves," said Tony Allevat, TVG senior vice president and executive producer.
A 5-year-old gelding bred in Australia, Silent Witness is unbeaten in 16 career starts, matching the record of his great-grand sire Ribot, who was a European champion. His 16 straight wins for trainer Tony Cruz also equal the North American record set by Triple Crown winner Citation and equaled by Cigar and Hallowed Dreams.
