Canadian Champion Eye of the Sphynx Retired

Canadian champion Eye of the Sphynx, whose last start came in September in the Ontario Colleen Handicap on turf at Woodbine, has been bred to
A.P. Indy and has been pronounced in foal. The 4-year-old daughter of
Smart Strike is owned by her breeder, the Samuel family's Sam-Son Farm.
In her only year of racing, Eye of the Sphynx earned a 2004 Sovereign Award as top 3-year-old filly with wins in the Labatt Woodbine Oaks, Selene Stakes, and Fury Stakes. She also placed in the Labatt Bison City Stakes, plus the Wonder Where Stakes on grass. Eye of the Sphynx retired with four wins from seven starts and earnings of $688,340.
Produced from the Vice Regent mare Queen of Egypt, Eye of the Sphynx is a half-sister to Canadian stakes winner Quiet Cleo, dam of Canadian Horse of the Year Quiet Resolve.
