Award-winning television producer Dan Noel, who was director of broadcast operations for rival TVG, has joined HorseRacing TV's production team and will focus on the day-to-day live operation of the 24-hour television network, it was announced Sunday.
Noel, president of Cutting Edge Media Productions, comes to HRTV with more than 25 years experience in producing sports television, primarily in the Los Angeles market. He began his career producing sports for KCBS-TV, a CBS owned and operated station. He has worked for the last six years for Television Games as a senior producer and most recently as director of broadcast operations.
"I've had the pleasure of working with Dan in various capacities for nearly two decades," said Amy Zimmerman, HRTV's executive producer in making the announcement. "I am looking forward to Dan working with our team to take HRTV to the next level."
In addition, HRTV announced that Phil Kubel has been promoted to senior coordinating producer. Kubel, who has been a member of the Santa Anita Broadcast Center team since 1997, was instrumental in launching HRTV in July 2002.
In addition to his new duties, Kubel will continue to oversee HRTV's post-production unit. He will coordinate many of the other broadcast divisions currently housed at the Arcadia studio, including RaceOnTV and the Horse Wizard.
