Ballydoyle's Kentucky-bred Virginia Waters swept to the lead in the final 150 yards to register a three-length win over favored Sweet Treat in the Dimitrova One Thousand Guineas Trial (Ire-III) at Leopardstown Sunday.

A 3-year-old daughter of Kingmambo, Virginia Waters was ridden to victory by Kieren Fallon for trainer Aidan O'Brien and owner Mrs. John Magnier. Barnett Enterprises was the breeder of Virginia Waters, out of the Sadler's Wells mare Legend Maker.

Virginia Waters raced in fourth while close to the pace before making her move in the straight and pulling away from Sweet Treat, ridden by Mick Kinane. Crystal View got third.

The seven-furlong time on yielding to soft going was 1:36.31.
