Grade I Racemare Miss Loren Retired: Booked to A.P. Indy

Miss Loren, a champion in her native Argentina and winner of the Feb. 13 Santa Maria Handicap (gr. I), has been retired from racing. Owned by Ernest and Maria Moody of Mercedes Stables, the daughter of Numerous arrived at Gerald Ford's Diamond A Farms near Versailles, Ky., and is booked to A.P. Indy.

Foaled in 1998 and bred by Firmamento, Miss Loren won or placed in seven of 10 starts--all stakes--following her arrival from Argentina in 2004. She made her first nine U.S. starts for Llers Corporation prior to being sold privately to the Moodys after the Santa Maria. In her sole start for them, she ran third in the March 12 Santa Margarita Invitational Handicap (gr. I). Miss Loren started the year with a win in the Pasadena Handicap at Santa Anita.

Miss Loren, who won or placed in 22 stakes in Argentina, retired with 13 wins from 46 starts and earnings of $652,260 in both countries. Produced from the Forlitano mare Luminare, Miss Loren is a full sister to 2005 U.S. graded winner Mr. Light and a half-sister to Argentine group II winner Milano Phone.
