Turfway, Beulah Abandon Saturday Programs

Due to high winds, Turfway Park canceled live racing Saturday after completing two of 12 scheduled races. The two races were completed without incident.

At Beulah Park, high winds and snow showers canceled the final five races on the Saturday program. Track officials hoped to resume racing on April 4.

Turfway's Fairway Fun Stakes, 10th race on the canceled card, will not be rescheduled, according to racing secretary Rick Leigh.

Saturday's cancellation brings to four the number of partial cards prematurely ended during the current winter/spring meet. The track also canceled seven full cards since opening Jan. 1. The meet ends April 7.
