Zakocity the 117-pound High Weight in Skip Away

Paul Pompa Jr.'s Zakocity, who finished third in the Gulfstream Park Handicap (gr. II) behind Eddington and Pies Prospect March 5, will tote high weight of 117 pounds Saturday in the Skip Away Handicap (gr. III) at Gulfstream Park.

The Skip Away, which drew a field of 10, has an approximate post time of 5:10 p.m EST and will be run as the race before the Florida Derby (gr. I).

Zakocity, a 4-year-old son of Precocity out of the Vilzak mare Zakcat, was bred in Florida by the late John Franks. The winner of last year's Discovery Handicap (gr. III) at Aqueduct, has made one other start this season, a second-place finish, by a nose, to Musique Toujours in the $1-millon Sunshine Millions Classic. Zakocity was an allowance winner over the Gulfstream surface last year.

Among those looking to up end Zakocity and jockey Jerry Bailey are:

o Donamire Farm's homebred Twilight Road, an 8-year-old son of Cahill Road who won three stakes last year including the Miami Mile Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. IIIT);

o Edward P. Evans' homebred Tap Day (by Pleasant Tap, winner of the Bud Challenger Stakes last time out at Tampa Bay Downs;

o John D. Murphy's The Lady's Groom (by Runaway Groom, winless in two 2005 starts but victorious in last year's Jim McKay Breeders' Cup Handicap at Pimlico;

o Eurosilver, a Buckram Oak Farm 4-year-old homebred by Unbridled's Song. Eurosilver, winner of the Lane's End Breeders' Futurity (gr. II) as a 2-year-old, was fourth in his seasonal debut Feb. 28 in a one-mile allowance race at Gulfstream.

o Ole Faunty, a 5-year-old gelding by Quiet American, an winner of last year's John B. Campbell Handicap at Laurel. He was third in a title defense in his lone 2005 start for trainer Elliott Walden.
