Fairmount Trainer Billy E. Adams Dies

Veteran trainer Billy E. Adams died March 25, opening night at Fairmount Park, due to a heart attack, according to Daily Racing Form.

Adams, who would have been 57 the following day, was walking Bucks Little Bean, a horse he owned and trained, back to his barn after winning the third race with him when he was stricken.

Adams, who trained for 35 years, kept on average 12 horses at Fairmount. Last year, he saddled Living a Dream to win the Seattle Slew Handicap at the track. Trained by Adams his entire career, Living a Dream won 13 races and earned $168,551

Adams' survivors include his wife, Lenita, and daughter Rebecca.
