Apprentice jockey Denis Rojas was in Jamaica Hospital late Friday after being unseated by Decourcey while galloping out after the fourth race at Aqueduct.
Rojas was reported to be alert and awake, but the hospital said it is forbidden to release medical condition. Rojas' agent Drew Mollica had no further information.
Shaun Bridhmohan reported seeing Decourcey drop Rojas and land on the jockey at the top of the backstretch. Rojas was strapped to the stretcher and taken directly to the hospital.
Rojas has won three races at Aqueduct following a short stay at Gulfstream Park where he rode his first career winner.
