Statement, a stakes winning son of Seattle Slew, will enter stud at Hooper Roff's Pyaar Acres near Lexington. He will stand for $3,500.

The 7-year-old horse won eight of 32 starts and earned $374,068. He won two stakes race, both last year, the Live the Dream and Wickerr Handicaps. He has not started since winning the Live the Dream at Del Mar last Sept. 8.

Bred in New York by Gallagher's Stud, Statement, out of the graded stakes winning Lypheor mare Appealing Missy, was sold at the 1999 Keeneland July Yearling sale by Eaton Sales, agent. He was purchased by Ahmed Salman's The Thoroughbred Corp. for $900,000.

Following Salman's death in 2002, Statement was sold as part of his estate at the 2004 Barretts March sale by trainer Kristin Mulhall as agent. He was purchased by David Bienstock, Paul Mandabach, Neil Pappiano, and Charles Winner's Winner Stables for $100,000.

Statement is currently owned by Janet Jeanes of Brenham, Texas.
