A. P. Adventure, a grade I winner for Robert and Beverly Lewis, has been retired from racing and is booked to
Storm Cat, according to
Daily Racing Form. The 4-year-old
A.P. Indy filly had lost her last six starts since winning the Las Virgenes Stakes (gr. I) in February 2004 in what was her third consecutive win since making her debut as a 2-year-old the previous year. A. P. Adventure ran fifth in the March 12 Santa Margarita Invitational Handicap (gr. I) in what was her final start.
Bred by Lazy E Ranch, A. P. Adventure was bought by the Lewises for $425,000 at the 2003 Fasig-Tipton Florida February sale of 2-year-olds in training from Terry Oliver, agent. Trained by Wally Dollase, A. P. Adventure also won the Santa Ysabel Stakes (gr. III) and placed in four graded events, including the Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I). In her 2005 debut, she missed winning the El Encino Stakes (gr. II) by a head, then ran third in the La Canada Stakes (gr. II). Produced from the Fappiano mare Nataliano, she retired with three wins from nine starts and earnings of $355,080.
