Roses in May headed to Dubai after Florida work.
Donn Handicap (gr. I) runner-up Roses in May blasted his way through his final workout in Florida Friday morning before a long flight to the Middle East for the March 26, $6 million Dubai World Cup.
The six-furlong breeze was timed in 1:12 1/5 under John Velazquez, who will be aboard in the world's richest race.
"This was a good three-quarters. We're looking to get him ready to go," said trainer Dale Romans.
Roses in May, who finished second to Horse of the Year Ghostzapper in the Breeders' Cup Classic – Powered by Dodge (gr. I), leaves for Dubai Saturday afternoon. Also expected on the flight is Prince Arch, who won the Gulfstream Park Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. I) last Sunday.
