Fencelineneighbor Heads Oaklawn's Azeri BC H.

California shipper Fencelineneighbor moves into Hot Springs to challenge five other older fillies and mares in the $175,000 Azeri Breeders' Cup Handicap (gr. III). Formerly known as the Oaklawn Breeders' Cup Handicap, the traditional prep for the Apple Blossom Handicap (gr. I) was renamed this year for the three-time winner of the Apple Blossom, thrice an Eclipse champion older mare, and 2002 Horse of the Year.

Fencelineneighbor captured the San Gorgonio Handicap (gr. III) in the slop at Santa Anita Jan. 8 prior to a second-place showing in the Sunshine Millions Distaff three weeks later.

The front-running 5-year-old daughter of Wild Rush was bred in Florida by Marablue Farm. She posted a bullet work back West (SA, 6f, F, 1:11.60, H, 1/41) before her arrival in Arkansas, and has earned an impressive $567,257 for her connections. Trainer Mike Machowsky give Luis Jauregui the mount for a trip from post 2 under a 119-pound impost.

Russ Beran and Dick Johnson's Casual Attitude, winner of three straight, bested 2004 Acorn Stakes (gr. I) winner Island Sand in her last trip postward in the Pippin Stakes over the Oaklawn track. Trained by Steve Hobby, and set to retain the services of Tim Doocy, Casual Attitude posted a stellar work herself last Saturday over the track (5f, F, 1:00.20, H, 3/53), and heads into the contest in fine form.

Bred in the Bluegrass by Rosilyn Polan and Kenneth Ross, the stalking 5-year-old daughter of Formal Gold has won nine times in her 19 starts, hitting the board in 14 of for a career total of $243,346. The dark bay or brown Casual Attitude, just a $15,000 Keeneland October yearling, will break from post 4 under carrying 117.

Island Sand brings her experience to bear on the field for owner B. A. Man and trainer Larry Jones. Though winless since her Acorn score last June, the 4-year-old daughter of Tabasco Catis always dangerous and has been working very well locally.

Bred in Kentucky by Richard Maynard, Island Sand has hit the board in nine of 12 starts for earnings of $448,917. She'll carry 113 and regular rider Terry Thompson for a trip from the five hole.

Last year's Molly Pitcher Handicap (gr. II) winner La Reason, French import Colony Band, and recent Oaklawn allowance winner Injustice, round out the field.
