Declan's Moon and Wilko Among 126 Nominated to Toyota Blue Grass Stakes

Declan's Moon, champion 2-year-old colt last year, and Wilko, winner of the Bessemer Trust Breeders' Cup Juvenile (gr. I), are among the 126 nominations for Keeneland's $750,000 Toyota Blue Grass Stakes (gr. I).
The 1 1/8-mile race will be contested April 16, three weeks before the Kentucky Derby (gr. I). It will be televised live on ESPN from 4:30-6:30 p.m. (ET).
In addition to Declan's Moon, who won the Santa Catalina (gr. II) in his seasonal debut, other nominees include last year's champion 2-year-old filly Sweet Catomine; High Fly, winner of the Fountain of Youth Stakes (gr. II); Proud Accolade, winner of the Champagne Stakes (gr. I) at two and the Hutcheson Stakes (gr. II) this year; and Rockport Harbor, winner last year of the Remsen Stakes (gr. II).
Trainer Nick Zito nominated 11 horses, including High Fly and the highly regarded Sun King. Todd Pletcher nominated a total of 16 horses that include Proud Accolade as well as Bandini, runner-up in the Fountain of Youth.
Other nominees include Risen Star Stakes (gr. III) winner Scipion; Greater Good, winner of the Southwest Stakes; Lecomte Stakes (gr. III) winner Storm Surge; 2004 Lane's End Breeders' Futurity (gr. I) winner Consolidator; and Magna Graduate, winner of the John Battaglia Memorial Stakes.
