Tropical Storm, a 5-year-old son of Storm Cat out of grade I winner Pearl City, will stand at Rick Trontz's Hopewell Farm near Midway, Ky. He is owned by NewLife Stud and will stand for $5,000 live foal.

"He's a beautifully conformed son of Storm Cat with a great attitude and family," Trontz said.

Roger Braugh of NewLife said, "We think Tropical Storm is a superior son of Storm Cat and want the best possible opportunity for him."

Tropical Storm, who won at Churchill Downs in one of his four starts, is from the same female family responsible for two of Storm Cat's major winners: successful sire Hennessy, a half-brother to Pearl City, and French group I winner Hold That Tiger. Pearl City also is a half-sister to two other stakes winners, including graded winner Shy Tom.
