Lethal Grande Named 2004 Horse of the Year, Older Male

For the second consecutive year Lethal Grande was named Oregon horse of the year and champion older male at the Oregon Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association's annual awards banquet March 5 at Portland Meadows.

Trained by Daryl Snow for Cheap Charlie's Stable, Lethal Grande won six of 15 starts in 2004, including the Portland Meadows Mile, and earned $111,367.

Bred by Pat Sonnen, Letal Grande is by Corslew, and is out of the Somethingfabulous mare La Bardot, who was also honored as broodmare of the year.

The other 2004 champions were: 2-year-old female, Wice O Kat; 2-year-old male, Cascadiansasquatch; 3-year-old female, Corona Del Hielo; 3-year-old male, Might E Man; older female, Moonlit Maddie; and sire of the year, Baquero.

Mr. and Mrs. William "Stub" Johnson, of St. Helens, Ore., were named breeders of the year.
