Hum Along, dam of champion Storm Song, died from complications while foaling a Giant's Causeway   colt Feb. 23. The colt, bred by Barnett Enterprises, a European client of Irish-based Coolmore Stud, is in good health at Coolmore's North American satellite, Ashford Stud, near Versailles, Ky.

Storm Song, a daughter of Summer Squall, was voted 1996 champion 2-year-old filly for Dogwood Stable (Cot Campbell, president) after winning the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) and Frizette Stakes (gr. I). Retired a millionaire, she commanded $1.4 million from J.S. Carrion at the 1997 Keeneland November breeding stock sale.

Three years later in 2000, Hum Along's yearling colt by Storm Cat sold for the highest price of the year, $6.8 million, at the Keeneland September sale. Bought by Coolmore associate Demi O'Byrne, he raced under the name Tasmanian Tiger.

Hum Along, who was bred by William S. Farish and Ogden Mills "Dinny" Phipps, placed in one of two starts. A 16-year-old daughter of Fappiano out of Minstress (by The Minstrel), Hum Along produced nine named foals, five of which are winners.
