Birdstone Gets First Mare in Foal

Sing and Swing, the first mare bred to grade I winner Birdstone  , has been pronounced in foal at Gainesway Farm (Antony Beck, president) near Lexington. A multiple stakes winner owned by Marylou Whitney, Sing and Swing (by Dixieland Band) is the dam of stakes-placed Got That Swing and is out of Kentucky Oaks (gr. II) winner Sun and Snow.

Birdstone, a son of Grindstone out of the Storm Bird mare Dear Birdie, beat Smarty Jones in winning the Belmont Stakes (gr. I). He stands for $10,000 at Gainesway.
