Retired Racing Official Frank Gabriel Sr. Dies

Frank Gabriel Sr., a retired racing secretary and father of Arlington Park's current racing secretary, died March 1 at age 81 in Florida after a lengthy illness, according to
Daily Racing Form.
Gabriel served as racing secretary at Atlantic City, Garden State, Laurel, and Keystone (now Philadelphia Park). An owner/trainer at one time, he also was a jockeys' agent.
His son, Frank Gabriel Jr., not only is Arlington's racing secretary, but also the track's executive vice president of racing operations.
