Sprint sensation Silent Witness, who is a perfect 14-for-14 and was 2004 Horse of the Year in Hong Kong, will soon have his own Web site. The Hong Kong Jockey Club will launch the site Feb. 26 to honor the horse that
Time magazine voted as one of the "people" that mattered most in 2004.
Silent Witness, an Australian-bred gelding by El Moxie (a son of Conquistador Cielo)--Jade Tiara, by Bureaucracy, began his racing career as Eltira in a pair of trial races, but his name was changed to Silent Witness after being purchased by bloodstock agent David Moore and shipped to Hong Kong.
Silent Witness, owned by Arthur "Archie" da Silva, and trained by Hong Kong legend Tony Cruz, goes for win No. 15 on Sunday in the Centenary Sprint Cup.
Silent Witness, who won the Bauhinia Sprint Trophy in his 2005 debut Jan. 23, is a two-time winner of the five-furlong Hong Kong Sprint (HK-I) run during the Hong Kong International Races in December at Sha Tin. He has earned HK$28,767,900, or $3,697,427 in his 14 starts.
The Web site, www.silentwitness.com.hk can get news and updates on how Silent Witness is doing, view a slide show, watch video, and download a desktop calendar.
