Mud Route's First Foal

Grade II winner Mud Route's first foal arrived on Jan. 12. The newborn California-bred filly is owned by a partnership that includes trainer Jerry Dutton and his wife, Barbara. The filly's dam, Golden Jewel Box, is booked to Eclipse Award runner-up War Chant. Mud Route, whose big win came in the Californian Stakes (gr. II), stands at Rick Taylor's Special T Thoroughbreds near Temecula, Calif.
